I am a father and husband and veteran who has happily settled down in Cedar Lake, Indiana. I am the guy who moderates the blog. But there are many of us who, as Cedar Lake/Hanover Township and Center Township Republicans have made a difference here in town and have hopes and plans for the future. We want to share these things with you! Some content is from AmericanVet and not official Republican content.
Marilyn Kaper - Ward 2 Town Council John Foreman - Ward 2 Town Council
Ralph Miller - Ward 4 Town Council
Patricia (King) Cassasa - Ward 6 Town Council
Gregory (Greg) Parker - Ward 7 Town Council
Amy Sund - Clerk Treasurer
I can attest that our candidates have been coming to meetings and getting involved in the local party activities as well as making the effort to upgrade the Cedar Lake Town Website and make improvements and decisions for the good of the town.
"The Town of Cedar Lake’s population has increased by nearly 25% since 2000. There are now 11,560 people that call the Town of Cedar Lake home in Indiana..."
Did you know you can go to the town website and view upcoming meetings and see announcements of meetings you may want to attend, public notices and various pieces of information? You can get up to the minute weather information, you can get specific info for developers, see legal notifications, find out who has won awards and certifications (such as Ian Nicolini and Amy Sund) and more...
Email askthetown@cedarlakein.org if you have suggestions for improving the website, or perhaps have information that would be helpful and etc.

There is a time to every purpose under heaven. It is time for Dick Lugar to go quietly off into the evening and retire.
Richard Mourdock absolutely floored me when I shook his hand at the Lincoln dinner. He recognized me and yet we had just one conversation in the last year! Heck of a memory...but I would vote for him for Governor, for Senator, for President and be glad to see him on the Supreme Court. Not because he remembered some random guy. Because he has the heart of a public servant and the attitude of a statesman. He is a true patriotic Constitution defender, a tea party enthusiast, a conservative Republican whose actions speak at least as eloquently as his words.
Be part of the solution! Meet the local Republicans. Meet the some of the folks who are making decisions for the town. Express your opinions and learn what others think...
Monday, April 4th at 7 PM - The Cedar Lake/Hanover Republicans meet at the Trustee's office in the old Library building at Lincoln Plaza. Do you want to join us? We love putting out more chairs!

Fleebagger Democrat Equates Running Away to Illinois with Soldiers Serving in Afghanistan
That's District 69 Democratic State Representative Dave Cheatham (Dave Cheat 'Em) comparing his retreat to Illinois to avoid doing his job to soldiers being deployed to Afghanistan to fight for their country. Disgusting.
Our soldiers are leaving home to do a job serving their country by going to Afghanistan. The Democrats ran away from doing their jobs serving the people of Indiana by fleeing to Illinois. The soldiers in Afghanistan are fighting and dying. The Democrats aren't in pitched combat. Their lives aren't in danger. They're not dying.
There is no comparison here, and Dave Cheatham shouldn't be making one."
~~~~~~~
Let me tell you, Cheatham, you have no right to compare yourself to the brave souls who take the oath and agree to risk life and limb to serve America. What a cowardly idiotic comparison (and I am being nice)! My son served in Afghanistan and that ain't Illinois!!!
Tell you what, if I was in charge downstate all the Democrats that went AWOL? They would not be paid nor would their staffs get paid. I would begin investigating the legal means of finding replacements for them in Indianapolis so government should get back to work. If I don't work, I don't get paid. How about you?
