Fleebagger Democrat Equates Running Away to Illinois with Soldiers Serving in Afghanistan
That's District 69 Democratic State Representative Dave Cheatham (Dave Cheat 'Em) comparing his retreat to Illinois to avoid doing his job to soldiers being deployed to Afghanistan to fight for their country. Disgusting.
Our soldiers are leaving home to do a job serving their country by going to Afghanistan. The Democrats ran away from doing their jobs serving the people of Indiana by fleeing to Illinois. The soldiers in Afghanistan are fighting and dying. The Democrats aren't in pitched combat. Their lives aren't in danger. They're not dying.
There is no comparison here, and Dave Cheatham shouldn't be making one."
~~~~~~~
Let me tell you, Cheatham, you have no right to compare yourself to the brave souls who take the oath and agree to risk life and limb to serve America. What a cowardly idiotic comparison (and I am being nice)! My son served in Afghanistan and that ain't Illinois!!!
Tell you what, if I was in charge downstate all the Democrats that went AWOL? They would not be paid nor would their staffs get paid. I would begin investigating the legal means of finding replacements for them in Indianapolis so government should get back to work. If I don't work, I don't get paid. How about you?
A talented friend, a Message from Kim and the Lincoln Day Dinner!
You would tell the world about a talented friend, right? Okay, so my young friend David...David in URL terms...is talented and deserves a look:
DJ Lil Corbin
David Mollema a.k.a DJ Lil Corbin is the newest crew member to join the getdown staff. His exciting personality and enthusiasm makes him a great asset to our team and to your event. David's love of music and dancing has led him into the world of entertainment. Along with working for Operation Getdown, he is an astounding actor and has performed in many theatrical plays including the High School Musical Production at the Star Plaza Theatre (starring as Chad Danforth). Along with acting, David is also a talented gymnast and by far the best dancer on staff. In fact, you may see him join your guests on the dance floor! If you're looking for excitement for your next party you have to check out DJ Lil Corbin!
He is a Cedar Lake resident. Now you know. Next post? Back to local politics, I promise! Okay, now -
Don't forget the Lincoln Day Dinner is coming up on April 2nd...We have our tickets already. Don't miss out!
Chairman's Comments
Thank you to everyone who signed up to run on our Republican ticket. There are still some openings, so I will be asking for you to take a look at those and see if there is a position that you qualify for. If you qualify, look deep within yourself and ask yourself if you would make a better public servant than what is there now. It's time to start sacrificing some time, talent, and treasure for the good of our communities. If you don't like your councilman or mayor (only Hobart and Whiting open for mayor!), step up to the plate! (Yes, thank goodness it's almost baseball season again!)
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Lincoln Day, is rapidly approaching. Our Keynote Speaker will be US Congressman Mike Pence. If you do not have a form to be a sponsor, host, or to pre-purchase a ticket or reserve a table, contact your city or town chair or Kevin Slaman. Remember, all the money we raise goes to candidates and a little bit for operational expenses. So the more money we can raise, the more candidates we can support in the general election!
I am sure this event will sell out. So please purchase your tickets early. Plus it will save time standing in line the night of the event. We had record crowds at Reagan Breakfast and our Christmas Party so I anticipate another record breaker on April 2nd!
If you are not following us either on Facebook or our Website, you are missing out on a lot of good information that is disseminated quickly for quick responses. Sometimes there are last minute events put together that you may want to participate in. One good example was events going on this week at the state house. I also text message people when immediate action is needed. An example is when a Republican is a guest on a local radio station and we want you to call in or listen or the recent results of the new RNC Chairman or the phone number to the Comfort Suites in Urbana, IL where our democratic legislators are hiding out. If I do not have your cell phone number (must be able to receive text messages) send it to lakecountygop@comcast.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so I can add you on to my group. I also encourage everyone to use my new google phone number as it will ring on my house and cell and leave me an email voice message if I cannot pick up. It's 219-440-2GOP.
We have lost both District YR Chairs, so I have been in contact with the State YR Chair on how to get a chapter started here in Lake Co. He may come up for our Lincoln Day and give a short talk about the importance of YRs. We need anyone between 18 and 40 to send me an email to lakecountygop@comcast.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you are interested in joining this new group. I also need 2 people to commit to being the leaders of the new group. They generally meet monthly. If I can get 10 people to commit to an event in March, the County Party will sponsor a Membership Party. The challenge is on!
If you want to work on election day as a clerk or a judge, please contact your city or town chairman ASAP. All contact info is found at http://www.thelakecountygop.com/.
Lastly, our state government was ground to a halt. when the Democrats walked out. A couple of Republicans have submitted articles this month on this subject. I encourage you to read them and contact your own Representative, if Democrat, and see what response you get. Some of the issues have to do with unions in the public sector. I encourage you to read this article
http://www.heritage.org/Research/Reports/2011/02/Time-to-Restore-Voter-Control-End-the-Government-Union-Monopoly to be more informed. As Republicans we stand for keeping more of our money in our own pockets to have the freedom to do with it what we want.
Our next GOP Newsletter will come out after Lincoln Day. If you know someone that wants to receive it to be informed of meetings and events, have them send their email to lakecountygop@comcast.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
Happy St Patrick's Day to all!
Local State Representatives Busy Spinning
Written by LCRCC
Official Statement From The Lake County Republican Organization
Although they have refused to carry out the duties voters elected them to do, local Democratic
state legislators are still keeping busy trying to spin their way out of this no-win situation they
created. They have no problem finding time to spend on Facebook and calling in to local radio
programs. Their repeated battle cry, “we are doing this to protect the families of Indiana”. What
that means is of course a mystery. And when interviewed, the media has yet to press for an
answer.
The reality is the state's business, which includes all Indiana residents, is at a standstill. Rather
than debating and voicing their opposition and then voting no, they choose to hold ALL Indiana
residents hostage until their demands for their self-centered political agenda is granted.
As Chairwoman of the Lake County Republican Organization I call on our local legislators and
their friends to put a stop to this childish behavior, and return to work immediately and carry
out the duties you swore under oath to uphold. You were elected to represent ALL of your
constituents not only your supporters.
Runaway Democrats are called out by Eric Holcomb. The public turns towards Republican plans and platforms...
In case you didn't know it, the Rasmussen Poll shows the majority of Americans support the States taking some control back from unions in the case of public sector employees. After all, taxpayers do not get a seat at the bargaining table when the unions are demanding more money from the legislators. Now that legislators are doing what we want them to do, to balance the budget, the unions are making a fuss, bussing in people from other states, trashing the protest areas and endangering lives. Why? Because the union bosses want to keep their power and control. But public employees work for us, the taxpayers! Tell me what is better - Teachers and schools competing for students based on their performance, or teachers having bulletproof jobs and incomes and no accountability? Who wins if school choice is allowed? The students and the best and often the youngest teachers!
Check out recent Rasmussen polls: You have to go there to read the articles, I just gave you some titles.
'Fraidy-cat Democrats hiding in Illiinois at the Comfort Inn
The story from NWI Politics blog...
If you are in the district Shelli VanDenburgh is "representing" you may want to know that she is playing hooky from work and along with fellow Democrats are refusing to play by the rules. Voters voted in Republicans to balance the budget and keep the State in the black. Childish Democrats run away.
A little bird told me that; "The Dems are held up at the Comfort Inn. Phone number is 217-328-3500. I just called and asked for Shelly Vandenburgh. I was told she was not available right now was there a message. I said i would call back. I will and tell her to get back to work! If you believe the Ds should return to work, call too! "
I am in Don Lehe's district, but if you are in VanDenburgh's, I would give her a call?
Let the Sunshine (Review) In! With the help of a few youtubes...
The Sunshine Review website.
Lake County government has been in the hands of Democrats since FDR was President and working on making a bad recession into a Great Depression. Funny how history repeats itself, yes?
Indiana as a State is doing pretty well. We are mandated to have a balanced budget, thankfully, and the State's website is a star as far as openness goes:
Indiana gets an A+
Lake County? A D as in Democrat, which is NOT a good grade!
Kinda makes you think? 2008 Elections were a disaster for America, but in 2010 the Republicans took charge of Cedar Lake and the US House of Representatives...now if we can just finish the job in 2012?
Want to be part of the solution?
Remember that the Cedar Lake Republicans meet the first Monday of every month. Next meeting is scheduled for the 7th of March. The meeting takes place at 7 PM at the office of the Hanover Township Trustee. More news to come!
Blogosaurus is back - time to think about politics again!
Three posts on rights...
What rights do we have?
Is this correct?
How about this?
We live in a Republic. I makes sense therefore that I am a Republican. There are primaries coming in May and the political process will be a bit louder in Lake County this year because Republicans are coming out of the doldrums and Democrats, some of them, are realizing that they have been had!
This blog will now begin posting again. First, a link to the Lake County GOP newsletter. Read the whole thing, please, if you wish to be informed.
Happy 100th Birthday President Ronald Reagan! February 6th marks former President Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday. According to the RNC website Ronald Reagan was "born in Tampico, Illinois, was a sports announcer before moving to Hollywood, where he worked his way up to considerable success during the 1930s and 1940s. He then served as president of the actors union for five terms and worked as a TV host and industry spokesman....Reagan was elected Governor of California in 1966 and re-elected in 1970. After vying for the Republican presidential nomination in 1968 and 1976, he won the nomination in 1980 and was then twice elected President of the United States.
Some of President Reagan's famous quotes are:
"I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience." (10/21/84)
"Of the worst mistakes anybody can make is to bet against Americans." (5/16/87)
"The future doesn't belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave." (1/28/86)
"We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we may always be free." (Normandy, 6/6/84)
Happy birthday Mr. President. We miss you!
Recently, I sent all the city and town chairmen an article by Leanne Hoagland-Smith entitled Arrogance Not Ignorance in Leadership. In it she writes, "Effective leaders will reach out to those who can truly help them and not other arrogant leaders who point fingers, make false accusations and offer unsustainable solutions because they believe they can."
I believe this past year the leadership of the Lake County GOP has done just that, and we now have a great team working for the Lake County GOP. I have seen their accomplishments, leadership, and strength. I've made tough decisions to strengthen the party just as Ronald Reagan did to strengthen our nation. We now have some of the best City and Town Chairmen who have not only helped us on a county level but have also worked hard finding and supporting local candidates. Some of them are already elected officials or soon will be. We also have a great team that when I call upon them to step up for a project, they don't say I will TRY, they say they will DO it.
I gave all city and town chairmen an outline of this year's goals for each month. They should be sharing those with you soon if they haven't already. We had a great meeting in January and will be meeting every other month this year with special events planned in between as well as at least 1 county meeting.
There will be some primary races this May. Some complain and feel running against each other isn't good. I am of the philosophy that it gives Republican voters a reason to come out and actually vote Republican in the primary. It also gives us great press...as long as you don't beat up on each other! It also shows that we are growing and that we care about our communities. I hope that whoever you support, that you see that after the primary is over that although we may have had differences, from my favorite quote of Kimbal Binder, "We lick our wounds and join forces because the differences between conservatives are much less important than the difference between us and the liberals."
Don't miss this Lincoln Day Dinner! Lots of good people and a terrific speaker and this year the political handouts and folders are up front rather than stacked on your table.
Also, check out the Lake County Republican Party in facebook.
Finally, remember that the Cedar Lake Republicans meet the first Monday of every month. Next meeting is scheduled for the 7th of March. The meeting takes place at 7 PM at the office of the Hanover Township Trustee. More news to come!
What rights do we have?
Is this correct?
How about this?
